Cardiff University is inviting applications for Sasakawa Postgraduate Research Studentships in Japanese studies for 2017 academic year. This programme is open to students of any nationality.
The aim of the PhD studentship is to enable and encourage academically able students from any nationality.

Applicants must hold a 2.1 degree at least, preferably in Japanese Studies. The candidate must be able to use Japanese for conducting research.
Course Level: Studentships are awarded for the postgraduate programme at Cardiff University.
Study Subject: Studentships are available in Japanese studies at Cardiff University.
Scholarship Award: This studentship consists of £10,000 total and is very generously funded by The Nippon Foundation and the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

- Academic criteria: Applicants must hold a 2.1 degree at least, preferably in Japanese Studies. The candidate must be able to use Japanese for conducting research.
- Residency: This studentship is open to students of any nationality. Students classified as international for fee purposes have to self-fund the difference between home and international fees.

In the funding section, please select “I will be applying for a scholarship / grant” and specify that you are applying for advertised funding from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.
